100 years, 10 months, 7 days

That is the age difference between Lauren and my great grandmother. My mom stayed with us for most of her spring break and one of the days we went to my grandmother's condo where my great grandmother was staying with my grandmother. We had lunch and my dad took pictures of the five generations (which he still hasn't emailed to me!). My cousins have kids, so it's not the first time a five generation picture has been taken, but this was obviously more fun for me and my mom!

One Month!

Yesterday Lauren turned one month old! In some ways it's flown by, and in some ways it's taken forever! At her checkup today she weighed 5lb 12 oz and was 20 inches long.
She's a pretty happy baby, except when she's getting her diaper changed. She's getting really good at holding her head up and looking around and making eye contact. She doesn't have a favorite toy yet, just likes looking at everything. She smiles and giggles in her sleep, I can't wait for that first real smile! Preemie onesies no longer fit and she's fitting in to more and more newborn sizes! Most night she sleeps fairly well and lets Mommy get almost two hours of sleep at a time! It takes her an hour to nurse, and is up every 3-4 hours, so it's hard to get in much sleep between feedings. We're getting ready to introduce a bottle so Daddy can feed her a time or two at night and let Mommy get some extra sleep!

Hammerman Beach

March 23 was insanely warm and some friends invited Lauren and me to go to one of the local state parks where there's a little beach. I was a little nervous about going that far from home for the first time, but I was anxious to get out of the house and see my friend and her friend who was visiting. It was only the second time I'd been in the car by myself with Lauren and I pulled over twice while driving there to check on her! I guess I need to buy a mirror so I can see her! We only spent an hour there and Lauren slept the whole time, but it was great to be outside in the fresh, nice air and chat with other adults. On the way home I had one of my friends' older kids ride in the backseat with Lauren, so I wouldn't be so nervous. And poor thing got hungry before we got home and was screaming by the time we got there. But other than that it was a successful outing! I can't wait until the weather is warmer all the time and we can take walks regularly.

My friend is the queen of photo shoots with her kids,
so she was happy to do a little one of
me and Lauren!
